Steventon was built for outdoor parties. The green is one of the best village party spaces in the Vale, the half timbered houses along The Causeway have some lovely gardens behind them, and the village hall picks up the winter birthdays. For events on the green itself, the organiser usually squares permission with the parish council, then we turn up with the castle, the games and the popcorn machine and make the place smell like a fairground.
